ASM Strategic Plan Flash Presentation

On an ongoing basis, the ASM International Strategic Planning process is creating a stronger ASM. Every year, we build on our previous year’s work. We identify new opportunities and refine existing priorities -- and we make things happen!
The past 18 months have seen the most prolific burst of new services in ASM history. Guided by the Strategic Plan, we continue to bring many new products and services to the ASM membership. This is your update on the critical areas that are shaping the future of your society.
Our activities during 2006-2007 focused on three areas of strategic initiative:
- The Global Community Information Network
- Emerging Technologies
- Lifelong Learning and Education
The Global Network has become part of our Ongoing Operational Activities for 2007-2008.
During 2007, our Strategic Planning Stakeholders and Participants gathered in Baltimore to discuss our priorities for 2007-2008. As a result of our discussions, we have added two new strategic objectives to the two that have continued from last year:
- Content is “Everything Material”
- Volunteerism.
During the past five years, we have made substantial progress in creating the ASM of the future. We have built on our traditional strengths, and we have added new capabilities and new services as we have moved forward.
The strategic path we are on is an ambitious one, and we cannot move forward to where we need to be without the visionary leadership of our Trustees, tremendous support from our membership, and the efforts of our Materials Park staff.
We believe in what we’re doing, and with your continued leadership and support, we’re going to get there.
