Nominating Committee

• Experience in ASM, preferably at local, and Society level, and through attendance at regional and national meetings (must attend one meeting held in April)
• Experienced in judging, evaluating and selecting personnel - individual thinker
• Ability to weigh facts and make decisions

Vice President & Board of Trustees Qualifications

• Materials persons with broad experience in ASM, business and management
• Experience in Society committee and chapter work
• Managerial experience (budgets, policy making) most desirable
• Is an individual or chapter sustaining ASM member
• Understands the duties and responsibilities required and is willing to serve if elected
• Understanding of ASM Strategy and objectives
• Knowledge of the field of Materials and Information Technology

Directions for Nomination

• ASM members, Chapters, Committees, Councils and any Affiliate Society Board are eligible to submit Trustee and Vice Presidential nominations
• Nominations for ASM Trustee are eligible for three-years.Eligibility and confirmation of consideration is confirmed annually within the three-year eligible timeframe.
• Nominees for Vice President must have previously served on the ASM Board of Trustees
• Submit nominations on the official Board of Trustee/Vice President Nomination Form
• The Board of Trustee/Vice President Nomination Form consists of Part I, Part II, and Part III.
  • Part I and Part III are prepared by the Nominator
  • Part II is prepared by the Nominee and includes the Nominees Vision Summary Statement (2 page letter)
  • The Nominator is responsible for compiling and submitting the entire nomination package and submitting to ASM headquarters
  • Nominator Signature is required
