Global Community Website to arrive July 30: ASM will again make history!

The key dates to remember are these:

June 26 - the ASM Global Community Website will be unveiled to the ASM Board of Trustees at the Board’s June meeting.

July 30 - the ASM Global Community Website goes LIVE to the world!

We’re going to be sharing many more exciting details with you over the next few weeks.  But for now, it’s important to recognize some of the main storylines we’ll be covering:

• We have built the new site with a clear understanding of the needs of our members and with the guidance of our leadership.
• We could have made many small changes over the past few years, but with the approval of the ASM Board of Trustees, we strategically decided to hold back and build a community website that would leapfrog any lesser stages of development – and our competitors. 
• The new ASM Global Community Website will be the ultimate expression of our investments in the Integrated Enterprise and our nonstop efforts through Increments 1, 2 and 3.  These efforts directly led to the launch of the ASM Thermal Spray Society site just a few weeks ago, as well as the development of new online products like the new Materials for Medical Devices Cardiovascular Module, the MEMS Packaging Database and Alloy Phase Diagrams Online.
• This is just another step in the creation of our Global Community Information Network…with the launch of our first Chapter Sites in August…the ASM Heat Treating Society Site in September…and other Affiliate Society and Chapter sites over the next 18 months.
• The launch will be a great moment for us, but the ASM site will never truly be a finished product.  It will always be changing and growing with new content and new capabilities that provide benefits for our members, customers and registered users.  Version 1.0 is just the start.  We will continue to announce those new features (and share them with previously released sites, like TSS) in the months and years to come!
