Thermal Spray Technology (3 day course)
This course is directed toward technologists, engineers, and technicians, and provides an understanding of thermal spray processing science as well as applications and practice. Graduate students and other professionals entering the thermal spray field or wanted to update their knowledge will also benefit greatly. Students will learn and understand how thermal spray processes allow favorable interactions which permit the design envelope of conventional components to be extended. Students also gain insights into future challenges and markets for this exponentially growing manufacturing sector.

- Processes including electric arc combustion and plasma spray coatings can apply almost any material to the surface of another

Practical Learning Series
We currently have three learning series:
 Materials: Practical Learning Series for Thermal Spray - Participants will understand what thermal spray coatings are, what coating materials are used in thermal spray, some important applications of thermal spray coatings, how surfaces wear, and how coatings are used to repair and protect surfaces.
Testing: Practical Learning Series for Thermal Spray - Participants will understand the various characteristics of thermal spray coatings that are tested, the challenges that arise in the proper preparation of testing samples, many of the methods used for testing the quality of coatings, and some of the ways in which raw materials are tested for quality and consistency.
Safety, Handling, and Documentation: Practical Learning Series for Thermal Spray - Participants will understand the guidelines for safe thermal spray practices, the safety considerations of various thermal spray handling methods, and the guidelines for documenting thermal spray processes.

 This introductory CD-ROM contains 12 modules of training in thermal spray. It includes interaction, video clips, and tests with automatic grading. This product was originally created in German by the European Thermal Spray (ETS) Consortium. With greater industry demand, it was translated into English, and is now available to you through ASM.
